We are patients and survivors of Chiari (types I-IV), here for your support.
Hello, I developed a syrinx, syringohydromyelia from a slip on the ice Dec 9, 2007. Slammed my spine on the ground at thorcic 5 level and now years later have this spinal cord cyst filled with fluid from T5 through T10 and is growing downward. My neuro told me to go to support sites for Chiari so here I am. The possibility of me developing Chiari II malformation in the furture is eveident. I am looking for someone similar to speak to about treatment and symptoms. I have all types of awful symptoms but one in particular I wanted to speak about was my body temperature. When I raise my arms in the air a severe chill over comes me and I can not get warm. I have a steady body temp of 95.7 and thinking its the syrinx or thyroid...If there is anyone out there who can put me in touch with someone similar please do. My email is jeffgreenswife@gmail.com - thank you...

Comment by Bella on February 7, 2012 at 7:34am Hi Caroline and andieK, Yes it is a big struggle to keep warm. Now yesterday my body temp went to 98.4 and felt feverish...too strange...I was wondering if any of you have that "cape like" feeling under the arms when you move them? I do, well I did in the beginning and also when sleeping if I am abruptly waken by the phone I wake up and reach for the phone and I have severe body tremor that wont seem to stop for a good length of time...20 minutes or more....anyone feel that also?
