PKTeacher....I had decompression surgery in Raleigh.  My surgeon is Dr. Koeleveld, 11-16-2012.  I loved him and so far I'm doing good.  He's associated with Rex Neurosurgery.

Have any of you had decompression surgery in Raleigh or Durham? If so, who was your surgeon?

I have lived in this beautiful area for 9 years after my husband retired due to a disability in his 50’s. We are originally from Niagara Falls. I have had symptoms for 26 years always knowing there had to be an answer.(Besides chronic fatigue) Dr. Rosner's answers and explanations make all the puzzle pieces fit into place. Regular ns and n DON'T listen. Dr Flechas and Dr Rosner listen, hear and believe their patients. If you ask a question they have a logical, understandable answer. I am going to have my surgery on my Independence Day, July 3rd! I have to try and improve my life as much as possible. There are so many things I have had to missed in 2 1/2 decades, it's time to start healing. I may need lots of hand holding and encouragement in the weeks to come from my friends on this site. I am also very lucky to have my husband of 46 years who has been by my side through all of the ups and downs of this illness. With his patience, love, understanding and caring, and your help, I can get through this!

I have added myself to this nc group because i live right over the line.  My sister's ns is in Winston-Salem, but mine is in Va.  We are both born and raised but recently moved to Va.  Hope everyone is having a great day.
