Permalink Reply by Michael Salasky on February 20, 2012 at 12:46am Thanks for the list Abby. It will help me advance my search, even though there are some docs on it that are adding to my confusion. I am glad others had success with them even though I did not at this time. Maybe after more testing, I will get positive results from those docs.

Janet, Thank you for letting us know that. Hope your doing well and have a great doctor looking after you. Take care.

Michael, This list was put together and by WACMA, and their research. Know what you mean, there are so many it is hard to determine which one to choose. Wonderful news when someone finds a good doctor. They are few and far between.
Hope your doing well. Take care of yourself and good to hear from you.
Abby

I am adding a link. On the left side when you open the page, scroll down to neurohydrodynamics, underneath you will see a link for Chiari Malformation. Click that several more links appear and one I found interesting that I have not seen is how the surgery is performed (Illustrated and step by step).
The links is http://www.neurosurgery-web.com/Opening%20Page.htm.
I believe its validity due to finding it on a page that has Dr. Bejjani.
Mike
Abby,
Please add Dr. Ali Krisht in Little Rock, AR. He is such an amazingly wonderful surgeon!!!!

If anyone is in the Augusta, Ga area. John Vender with Georgia Health Science University is a great neurosurgeon for Chiari. The hospital was formally Medical College of Georgia(MCG) since the name just changed not many know Georgia Health Science University. But he is great and gets to the chase!
Permalink Reply by razzle51 on February 28, 2012 at 8:50am this is a old list and some of these drs are not practiceing anymore or have retired FYI
But thanks for the new names
Permalink Reply by Olive's Mom on March 2, 2012 at 10:41pm I agree Janet. Dr. Tew did my daughter's decompression June 2010. While she still has some headaches and the year post surgery was challenging due to her brain adjusting to the decompression Dr. Tew changed her life for the best. We will forever be indebted to him and his team. We did research and found that Dr. Tew is respected among doctors and nurses too.

Permalink Reply by nicolee on March 7, 2012 at 5:29am I recently read a very informative article about Dr. Bejjani. He said that he deals with the Chiari and decompression surgery, but after surgery, refers his patients to pain management. I know we all deal with this, but does anyone know what doctors DO deal with all the Chiari related symptoms after surgery? My PCP is wonderful, but she feels that I should be seeing a NL for the issues. My NL is a joke and my NS says she did her job. It is so frustrating. I have an appt in April with a new NL, but almost feel like not going. I don't know if he even deals with this issue.
